Attorney Murphy was the faculty chair for the Practising Law Institute’s “Representing the Pro Bono Client: Consumer Law Basics 2016” Program in San Francisco, California on July 22, 2016. Mr. Murphy has chaired the Program since 2009. This years’s agenda covered all aspects of consumer law from automobile fraud to mortgage servicing to debt collection and reporting. In addition to the live audience, over 750 attorneys and legal professionals attended by webcast. The goal of the Program is to provide basic training by way of overview of the diverse consumer topics so that attorneys are capable of taking at least one pro bono consumer case in the following year.
