On May 18, 2012, Mr. Murphy was a speaker at the Teaching Consumer Law Conference hosted by the in Houston, Texas.
The topic of the presentation was “View from the Trenches- Practicing Consumer Law.” Mr. Murphy spoke at length on recent United States Supreme Court and Circuit Court decisions that have impacted the representation of consumers who have been damaged by unfair business practices. The bi-annual conference is attended by consumer law professors from throughout the United States, Europe and Australia.
Mr. Murphy consumer fraud attorney has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida since 2009, teaching second and third year law students in the area of consumer law. The course curriculum covers the entire spectrum of consumer law including unfair debt collection, automobile dealer fraud, credit reporting disputes and bank misconduct.
