On January 8, 2021, Attorney Robert W. Murphy was appointed co-lead counsel in the “In re Ioniq Hyundai Collision  Avoidance System Litigation” class action in the US District Court for the Central District of California.  According to the complaint allegations, car buyers purchased vehicles advertised as having Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist when in fact the cars only came with Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning systems. Assist systems actively apply the brakes if necessary to avoid a collision while warning systems simply act as a warning to alert drivers.

The Murphy Law Firm has successfully litigated over 200 class actions in state and federal court involving all areas of consumer law.
