Attorney Murphy was invited by the University of Pretoria, South Africa to speak at the Fourth Bi-Annual International Consumer Law Conference on the topic of the “Secured Transactions for Movable Goods.” Attorney Murphy participated on the panel with Letitia James, the New York Attorney General, and Professor Anthony Idigbe from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Attorney Murphy discussed the role of the Uniform Commercial Code (“UCC”) in the United States in regulating secured transactions and provided updates on the effect of COVID-19 on recovery of collateral under the UCC.
